Carnevale and Lohr, Inc. specializes in the supply, fabrication, and installation of natural dimensional stone, including marble, granite, limestone, slate, onyx, and travertine. A family owned and operated enterprise with three generations of experience in the stone industry, the Carnevale and Lohr families personally oversee all of the company’s importation, fabrication, and installation.
Since the 1930’s the Carnevale and Lohr families have been involved with marble, granite, and limestone fabrication and installation in the Los Angeles area. In 1958 the two families formally joined forces when second generation marble craftsmen Louie Carnevale and Edmund B. Lohr Jr. founded Carnevale & Lohr Inc. and were awarded California Contractors License #179902. Today, third generation marble craftsmen David Carnevale and Michael Carnevale P.E., along with founder Louie Carnevale, supervise all operations at the company.
Located at 6521 Clara Street in Bell Gardens, we have a 20,000 square foot facility located next to our offices for the fabrication of natural stone and support to our field operations, including an additional acre for material storage and staging, with 15,000 square feet of warehousing capacity. We have a highly trained and experienced professional staff onsite, including our in-house drafting department and structural engineer. We prefer to handle all shop drawings and stone ordering “in-house”, using the most current AutoCAD (release 2016) and online computer systems. Employed in our fabrication facility are over 12 “full-time” professional shop personnel; all trained by our company, producing the finest handcrafted stone work available. Within short notice, our facility is capable of quickly fabricating small to medium size jobs, meeting the requirements for projects with accelerated schedules, as well as having the capability to fabricate extremely large size projects when given proper time allowances. We carry insurance coverage’s of over 6 million dollars, and can provide substantial performance bonds if so required by a project.
Carnevale and Lohr installation personnel are the finest workers in their trade. We employ skilled union craftsmen resulting in first class workmanship and highly praised installations. We utilize not only the traditional hand set method of “spot and tie” and mortar installations, but also engineered mechanical attachment installations. We currently have over 20 highly trained installers on staff. All of whom have extensive experience in every phase of stone construction, including commercial and large residential projects. At the present, we have eight journeyman marble/stone masons with a combined experience of over 100 years. None have less than 15 years experience; most of which is on difficult, custom, high-end projects. All have extensive work experience with Carnevale & Lohr some having had stone construction experience with other companies before coming to Carnevale & Lohr. All have Carnevale & Lohr training. We do not hire non-union installation personnel. The union masons we employ are the best craftsmen available.
Our company has extensive connections to quarries and fabricators both domestic and worldwide, in such places as Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, India, and China. Fifty-eight years in the trade, and a worldwide reputation for quality, has given us the advantage to collaborate exclusively with the best stone suppliers and fabricators. On every project we are personally involved in the selection, purchase, inspection, and importation of the materials.
